Ellen is from Vienna, Virginia. She was a member of the program from 2010-2014, including four years in which the program finished in the top ten at Nationals. As a competitor, Ellen won six witness awards, including an All-American at the 2011 National Championship Tournament. She served as a team captain, the program's Vice President for Administration, and lastly as the program’s President.
Ellen holds a Master's degree from Yale University's Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, and authors for West Point's Combating Terrorism Center. She later worked as speechwriter to General (RET) Stanley McChrystal and is currently pursuing a PhD in political science at Stanford.
