David is originally from Charleston, South Carolina. As an undergraduate, David was a founding member of Furman University's mock trial program. During law school, David served as head coach of Columbia's mock trial program for three years, guiding that program to multiple top-ten finishes at the National Championship Tournament and a spot in the 2004 national final round. Following his graduation, David was an advisor to Virginia Mock Trial for several years, including the 2005-06 season, during which the program won its first of two back-to-back national championships. He also was the Founding Director of the Great American Mock Trial Invitational for its first three years. David lives in Washington, DC.
