Paul is originally from Charlottesville, Virginia. He was a member of the program from 2006 until 2010, and was a competing member of the team that won the program's second of two consecutive national championships. Paul won nine individual awards as a competitor, including six attorney awards and three witness awards. He also served as a team captain and the program's Vice President for Fundraising.
Following graduation, Paul worked at the White House and as the speechwriter for the British Embassy in Washington, DC before attending Washington & Lee Law School. After a year of clerking, he now works for a law firm in Washington, DC.
